Women in Construction Week and International Women’s Day 2026 provide a great moment to recognise the women who contribute to our industry and the many different paths that bring people into engineering and the built environment.
Across 4energy group, System Five and analytics4energy, women play vital roles in awide range of disciplines including project engineering, project management, data analysis, finance, marketing, operations, health & safety, administration and service coordination.
This diversity of roles reflects the reality of modern engineering businesses. Delivering complex building services and energy management solutions relies on strong collaboration between technical specialists, operational teams and business support functions.
The women across our group also represent a broad mix of experience and career journeys. Some have joined the industry through apprenticeships, while others have transitioned from entirely different careers into the BEMS world. Many are continuing todevelop their expertise through ongoing professional training, including specialist BEMS programmes delivered through the Building Controls Industry Association (BCIA).
