World Quantum Day

Today is World Quantum Day

A moment to recognise the science that transformed how we understand energy, measurement and the behaviour of systems.

When Erwin Schrödinger introduced his famous equation 100 years ago, it marked ashift in physics, from observation and assumption to something far more powerful: predictive, measurable insight into how energy behaves.

While quantum mechanics operates at an entirely different scale, its legacy is allaround us. The same foundations underpin the sensors, processors and control technologies that make modern building systems possible.

Across 4energy group, System Five and analytics4energy, the principle is familiar:

➡️Measure what’s happening

➡️Understand how systems behave

➡️Optimise performance based on real data

Because without proper visibility, a building can appear efficient… while quietly wasting energy.

A century on, the thinking still holds true, the more accurately we observe a system, the better we can make it perform.
